Yule & Holiday Stress: Herbal Allies for Calm

December 17, 2025

The holiday season whether Yule, Christmas, or year-end reflections can bring heightened stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. This year, let’s explore a gentle and accessible ally from our garden pineapple weed (Matricaria discoidea).

With its sweet, pineapple-like scent and calming properties, it’s perfect for helping you ground, center, and restore emotional balance during the busy season.  While pineapple weed is our featured herb, you can also use lavender, chamomile, or valerian as optional companions for teas, incense, or baths.

Tea for Holiday Calm

Ingredients:

  • 1–2 teaspoons dried pineapple weed flowers (or fresh if mild)
  • Optional: a pinch of chamomile, lavender, or valerian

Trauma-Informed Grounding Ritual

Sit comfortably with a small pinch of pineapple weed or your herbal sachet.

Close your eyes and inhale the sweet scent slowly.

Visualize tension leaving your body as you exhale.

Repeat for 2–5 minutes, or longer if it feels safe.

This Yule season, let pineapple weed’s sweet, calming energy help you find moments of peace amidst the busyness. Even a few minutes with this simple herbal ally can reset your nervous system and support emotional balance.
